The next stop-off point on the 2022 PGA Tour is in Toronto, and here we take a look at the RBC Canadian Open and bring you some free golf betting picks.
It’s been a difficult few weeks in the world of golf, and sadly it’s going to get worse. The build-up to this event has been disrupted by events elsewhere, with Greg Norman’s first Saudi-backed LIV event near starting in the UK this week.

It’s unfortunate for the Canadian Open that the two events are clashing. Nevertheless, we still have big names headlining the RBC.
There is the 2022 US Masters Champion and world number one, Scottie Scheffler. Also competing is Justin Thomas, the freshly crowned 2022 US PGA Championship winner, and we also have world number 3, Cameron Smith, and the seemingly evergreen Rory McIlroy.
And it’s McIlroy, Scheffler, and Thomas who are the current betting favorites to win the Canadian Open. All three can’t be separated by BetOnline, who has them all tied on +900.
Home favorite Corey Connors is also amongst the leading contenders. The 30-year-old is up to 31 in the world, and at +4000 this week, may well feature with a lot of Canadian punters, and also in our golf betting picks to come later.

Rory McIlroy is effectively the defending champion. Due to the covid pandemic, the 2020 tournament didn’t take place. The last time this event took place was back in 2019 when McIlroy won by 7 shots after firing a scintillating 61 in the 4th round.
The St George’s Country Club was built in 1929 and has continued to grow and establish itself as one of the top golfing venues in Canada.
The last time the Open was held here was back in 2010. The winner back then was Carl Pettersson. The Swede shot a course record of 60 en route to his title. A record that still stands today.
The course is Par 71 and is just over 7000 yards in length. The fairways are tree-lined, with plenty of bunkers to keep them company.
Players who don’t like getting their feet wet will be pleased to know there are no major water hazards to contend with this week.

The Northern Irishman is enjoying a decent season. He finished 8th at the recent US PGA Championship, and also 2nd at the US Masters. In between those finishes, he was 5th at the Wells Fargo Championship at the start of May.
